Just finished an awesome project set through the Make Art That Sells Bootcamp course with Lilla Rogers. Its the first of five assignments set over 5 months. Its a curious course as i’ve heard that the briefs given are always interesting, diverse in topic and gets you exploring many of the key areas of surface design.
I think it will be a great way to progress my portfolio and I’m super excited to see what the course will bring out of me over the next few months.
First up was to draw hairstyles and faces inspired by the 1920s. Then translate them into an adult colouring book cover. My influences for this had to be the artist Sonia Delaunay, one of my favourites from the era. I love the bold colours and simple pattern elements of her work and wanted my finished design to evoke similar qualities.
